S081 : Leaving the Marshes

• Falkrunn brokers a deal with Madnarg: No raids until 3001-03-01, he stops his minions from attacking Stantflak’s farm
  • The party will get cookies or other confectionery to him on a regular basis
  • Aramil tells Madnarg about the summit between Saltmarsh and Groshax. They will try to establish safe trade route in that summit
  • The party will negotiate with Listing Larder

"If the raids start the cookies stop and if the cookies stop the raids start."

• Zenberg goes off and comes back with two scrolls, with that quote in Draconic. Falkrunn does detect magic on the scrolls -> Transmutation/Illusion.
• Zenberg says it’s homemade ink. All party members sign it.
• Madnarg asks for his items back, Aramil says he didn’t realise the stuff was his
• Zenberg gives envelope to Emalas,Madnarg says, could you deliver this to Ray Hausen, he might want the Party to escort Zenberg to Seaton in future
• Madnarg gives party one half of the Sphere of Sending
• Madnarg says Falkrunn can have the beans

• Blizzard subsides with lovely sunset, quite warm
• Party uses Palantir to say they're off. The Party sets out.
• Falkrunn does thaumaturgy cantrip to signal to Bildo & Nev. They see them in the distance waving. Meet up. Tell them everything. Big Nev was very interested in the treasure room.
• The Party decide to do a Pepsi test for Bildo vs Listing Larder cookies.

• Ovak cuts down tree in Dunwater forest, and ensures it falls across the stream.
• Big Nev and Falkrunn fall in the water and get cold and wet.
• The party go to a big building on a rock. Make a fire on the steps to dry out. And have a bit of a sing song. Aramil tries out some of his new material. He is hilarious and very entertaining. Zentor and 4 friends turn up halfway through the act.
• Enter the temple. Go to the corner. Giant constrictor attacks blocking the doorway, killed quite easily Big Nev took damage and got constricted.
• Gather small amount of treasure 10gp bracelet & 100sp

• Standoff between five lizard people, they flee when a Remorhaz attacks biting Emalas and wrecking his robes, party kill the Remorhaz

• Reach the small sunken town, stay in soldiers' barracks, Fight ghosts, Falkrunn turns two, Bildo frightened, others destroyed

• Arrive at Northill
• Bildo & Big Nev go ahead to Red Larch
• Party visit the Listing Larder and tell the landlady Jemima about Madnarg, and the importance of Arkroot, and requests Chocolate Cookies to go into a trade route to Hardscale the Lizard village. The Party will supply funds.
• The Party arrive in Red Larch at 1500

S080 : Audience with Madnarg

• Ovak manages to slam the door on the black dragon in the courtyard, but it smashes it open, then bites and incapacitated Aramil
  • Emalas punches dragon in the eye stunning it
  • Dragon hovers at 30ft, breaths acid, Emalas uses evasion and a nat 20 to dodge all the damage
  • Falkrunn uses Guiding Bolt, and Ovak follows up with a javelin
  • Emalas runs up the wall, jumps on the dragon forcing it to fly into wall killing itself, Emails jumps off and slowly floats down and lands with the grace of an 248 year old elf
  • Falkrunn takes a scale from the dragon, and Ovak gets a tooth
• The party go upstairs
  • After Aramil picks the difficult lock, Falkrunn casts detect magic on the items in the room, which includes lots of treasure
  • The party take a bag of ten beans, a bag containing two stripy stones, potion of invisibility and
    • Silver-plated steel longsword with jet set in hilt
    • Silver chalice set with moonstones
    • Obsidian statuette with gold fittings and inlay
    • Gold dragon comb set with red garnets as eyes
• Outside the room on the way to the room at the end of the corridor a trap is sprung and Falkrunn creates a rain cloud to dissipate most of the acid spray from the ceiling

• They venture into the tower finding a room full of peculiar equipment and bottles
• At the top of the tower they have a dialog with Madnarg - Aramil with Falkrunn's help tries to convince Madnarg that they have a source of confectionary. Madnarg is suspicious that he can't trust them and wants a guarantee. He doesn’t seem to know about Stantflak’s farm.

• Aramil deduces that the metal box contains 12 cigars
• Emalas opens and sniffs the jars and thinks it’s chocolate
• Party enter the ballroom with the broken floors and fight and kill three Plane Shifting Spiders
  • Aramil takes the jewels from the floor
  • Emalas deduces cleaning fluid which Aramil uses to clean the jewels
• Ovak opens the door to the courtyard to see a Black Dragon waiting outside, Aramil says "Do you want these jewels I just cleaned them ?"
• Slam the door and run to either side of the ballroom against the walls

• Party see Skerrin coming back into town and talking to Anders looking very cross and bewildered.
• The Party go to The Snapping Line
  • The landlady Hanna Rist tells them the “oar” was found near the sharkfin bridge many many years ago.
  • Aramil tells her about the Tenelia’s Jewel in the shipwreck.
  • So she wants to make the “oar” a tourist attraction.

  • Falkrunn convinces her that a plaque would be as good if the Party took the rod. THe Party convince Hanna that she could open part of the pub as a museum with the staff (after it’s been used) as the centerpiece. THe Party take the rod.
• The Party go to the museum
  • The curator of the museum is Eda Oweland, it is part of the Town Hall
  • Tell Eda Oweland the same story. Eda is more than happy for the party to take the stone. * The story for the general public is that the party are taking relics of Saltmarsh to be valued at Seaton museum.
• The hide objects in basement of The Adventurer’s Rest
• The Party see guards arguing with Boris Cleverly (Scariode’s Lawyer who is on the way to Seaton and stopping over at The Wicker Goat)
  • Oval and Aramil defuse the situation, Ovak by pulling rank
  • Aramil tells the guards, that they’ve just saved their lives because they would have been killed by Scariodes minions. Aramils gives them the rest of the day off.
• Mashmad and Grumbletoes have found an envelope delivered in the garden by a crow with the seal “E”, inside the envelope is a translucent spherical jewel with an engraving inside

• The Party fought their way up the tower killing Rock Bullywugs as they go until they reached the beacon
• The Party kill Queasa the Kraken Priest, but the Bullywug Shamen Slipslosh managed to escape by jumping off and hopping off into the undergrowth
• Finally they find the body of Queasa and retrieve the key which they use to open the trapdoor on the ground floor of the tower, they see a set of steps leading down into the darkness

• Aramil creeps to the first tent and crawls in underneath, killed the cultist praying inside and makes it look like he is sleeping. Found a book written in a strange language that looks like Dwarvish but Falkrunn doesn't understand it.
• Aramil sneaks back to the party
• Kraken Priest comes out of the Temple as the cultists and priests are excited by the view of The Ace of Diamonds.
  • Kraken Priest does voice of the kraken
  • Fulkrunn and Ovak are frightened temporarily
  • Oval shouts to Jan who is at the bottom of the cliff
• Priest climbs ladder to the statue on the roof of the temple
  • Priest pulls ladder up to the roof

Session 55 : Plenswic Gardens and Meeting Eldor

06/07

• Emalas and Falkrunn investigate bodies to find that they’ve been drained of blood but they are in fact vampires
• Fight the evil trees in Plenswic Gardens
  • Emalas kicks a tree over!
  • Falkrunn is incapacitated in the fight, and Ovak carries her
  • Aramil tries to burn the trees
• Weird floating eyeball creatures follow them through the garden but there is no interaction
• Find a greenhouse and investigate
  • They take the book “Blooming Awful”
  • Vines cover the door and air starts to drain from the location
  • Party hide under desk, Ovak holds shield aloft and shatters glass with sword
• Arrive at Eldor’s Tower
  • Eldor gives them room and they all have a vegetarian feast with wine and pipe weed
  • Eldor tells them the story of the beginnings of the World, and Galactacus and the creation of the forests
  • The party exchange stories with Eldor and take a long rest

Session 53 & 54 : Plenswic Vampire Attack

• Party runs to the temple and finds their way in fending off attacks from the vamps at the door
• Aramil runs upstairs and looks out at Doktor Zogranda who tries to possess him but Aramil’s steely resolve (nat. 20) resists
• Finally the vamps step back and wait in the square, the party use this time to patch up barricades, search the temple and rest
• Behind the curtain they find a tunnel leading down to a place with groaning noises
• At the back of the temple they find another exit
• While the others rest Aramil and Emalas fight off two weakened shadows
• After rests there is a gap in the clouds and the party race across the square escorting Victor and Naomi through the immediate danger, they run off to the harbour
• The party turn on the fountain in the square in the pump house opposite
• As the clouds come back in the party run back, through the temple, out the back door (while fighting vamps at the back door) and run to the graveyard that the vamps avoid
• Aramil picked the lock to the graveyard and they walk through past the graves, Ovak smashing skeletons to bits easily with Shatterspike
• They get to the end of the graveyard and Aramil picks the gate lock to get into the gardens
• The party finds two dead bodies which are little more than skeletons, they cautiously investigate them and find a pouch with 80gp and a watch, Falkrunn casts detect magic and finds none
• While the party argues about what to do next, they see menacing trees approaching and encircling them…

Session 52 : Plenswic Vampire Attack

06/07

1am

• Left the Town Hall and investigated the body outside the Music Shop, took stake out of hand
• Searched music shop and found a recorder (Falkrunn) and "Famous Songs of Old" music book (Aramil)
• Responded to Kimlos's cried for help and ambushed in an alley way by cloaked vampires, Aramil managed to kill one, Emalas badly wounded
• Falkrunn turned seven of the vampires, but others appeared from the rooftops and walled and chased the party into the next square
• Emalas ran towards the Temple of the Godless, then they heard a shout from the Temple of Mishakal
• A thick fog started to emerge from one of the streets leading into the square, in the fog is a dark figure

• Investigated The Beacon pub, killed 5 zombeletons and 4 shadows
• Party secured the pub with tables up against the windows and doors and took a short rest for one hour
• Ovak and Falkrunn drank one of the posh bottles of wine
• Searched the pub and took:

5pm The Chemist Shop

• Left the harbour and walked along the ruined road to the city.
• Got to the Town Hall square and investigated the chemist
  • Glass all over the floor in the chemist
  • Brief glimpse of sun through the overcast skies
  • Found 16ep in the till drawer and a receipt from Eldor dated 2764 for Nepenthints extract
  • Found corpse of Orc upstairs, Falkrunn gave last rites, decapitated it and threw it out the window
  • 4 zombies attacked through the front door (destroyed by Falkrunn)
  • Moved shelves in front of windows to secure the building and attempted a long rest

• At Peakhaven the party solved Nebulus Yooar’s riddle and found a 250gp Ruby in the telescope

• At High Pasture they meet Tabo Horsemaster who gives the a lift on his boat for 1.5gp a mile, charging 150gp, Aramil haggles it down to 100gp for all of them

  • The party will tell the monks of Xymboche Monastery that it is safe to climb the mountain and support Gargathamaparna
  • If the party can coax the Hill Giants into the Kuhmurnha Valley Gargathamaparna will send avalanches and weather to defeat them
• Stormwing the Roc transported the party back to Rock Holm and they were fed and had a moot to discuss what happens next

• Party found a two story cottage in the centre of the island and searched it, found a trapdoor leading down with laboratory equipment, bed and a safe
  • Opened the safe and took items out
  • Found notes about an experiment to gain eternal life, including three books (Falkrunn later deduced these were quackery)
  • Ovak and Emalas pushed open secret door, slab of stone, party fled after brief fight with animated Iron Statues, tried to seal them back in but stone difficult to move
• Party conspired to run the slow statues around the island while Ben and Winston built trap which they caught the statues in an burnt them
• Rest of the time on island uneventful apart from Ovak and Aramil returning to the safe triggering a trap which released poison
• On journey to Zyntium party engaged a goblin pirate ship killing all on board (twenty goblins and two leaders), Aramil shooting after climbing up the main mast

• Investigated shelter and found pieces of fabric and silver pieces
• Set camp on the beach and heard Winston's story about Scariode, Ben seems to be warming to the group

• Party get to Murkthorne and are healed with some potions taken from the ruins of Ekkzahl’s house
• Winston showed up at 12pm, they use horses lent by villages to race to Old Ben Maysmith’s docks, as they greet Ben and Winston pays him for help, Scariode’s cage and goons show up

Session 28 : Getting a Message to Winston

  • Keledek gave the party a present of stationery to deliver to Amelia
  • Saw Skerrin and Manistrad arguing outside the mine, Manistrad is concerned about the rising cost of Arkroot
• On route to Seaton the party witnesses a robbery by eight Bugbears of a rich noble in a carriage, the party took heavy damage but managed to defeat them. The carriage was ablaze but Falkrunn put the flames out with a spell
  • Noble and three servants killed, buried the bodies
  • Party found money and goods (letter and ornate dragon statue in an ebony box)
• Arrived at Seaton at teatime
• Ovak and Emalas helped Mr Simpkins and Ray Hayhosen rid the Golden Dragon hotel of rat infestation (Ovak cultivated friendly rivalry with Mr Simpkins)

  • Ovak and Emalas broke the grille getting in
  • Sewer water drained out leaving the tunnels almost dry

Session 27 : Gellen Calls a Meeting

  • he is looking after the pieces of Tenelia's Staff Mount
  • he is going to study the mount and research about the sea monster and Eldor
• Stantflak and Grindol have returned from Northill, they brought news from the area and concerns about Millip Farloon investigating Winston
• Spend the afternoon in The Snapping Line
• Later Landorn meets them, he is then ushered away by Gellen's Assistant Barry Garlov.
• Landorn is sent on secret mission by Gellen
• Soon after the party are summoned (Ovak and Aramil are too drunk and make their war back to The Adventurer's Rest) but Aramil is called back by Gellen
• Ovak and Stantflak drink at The Adventurer's Rest
• Aramil persuaded Landorn to take Grindol to Abbey Isle first thing in the morning to oversea harbour building

Session 26 : The Battle of Century Border

11/05 Noon - Year 2080

• Travelled through the ancient underwater ruins, and found "Tenelia's Turret"
• Battled with an aboleth and were either wounded and taken or guided through the portal by mysterious supernatural humanoid figures
• Falkrunn retrieved the three broken pieces of the staff mount
• Found "The Catcher's Rest" the tavern on the site of the Saltmarsh of the future, met Kabo and Kailee, Kailee drew a picture of the characters fighting off a band of orcs trying to vandalise the tavern
• Witnessed The Battle of Century Border and fought hobgoblin troops at the rear of their assault
• Witnessed Tenelia and Eldor's final stand against the hobgoblins, Falkrunn cast mass healing word on the party and the elves but could not save Tenelia from being hacked to death, Eldor may or may not have survived
• Followed the parts of Tenelia's staff float down the river, the stone and mounted floated into Saltmarsh sound whilst the rod got caught up in reeds by the side of the stream
• Overwhelmed by hobgoblins the characters found themselves back at the stream near modern Saltmarsh
• Falkrunn cast detect magic and found traces of magic throughout the stream in this area

Session 25 : Bullywug Temple

• Ovak put Mad Agatha’s silver ladle on her backpack with other cooking gear
• Party drank from the holy river in the Bullywug Worship Hall and decanted some of the water into their waterskins
• Party found secret room and when inside set off trap which released poison gas, Aramil took the ornate box and its contents
• Reached the sacrificial chamber and engaged in combat with eight Bullywugs and their Shaman, Falkrunn took a mortal blow and was knocked unconscious for two hours
• Party took a short rest in the secret room and Falkrunn came back to consciousness
• Party found the Bullywug library and investigated the cabinet, they checked and found nothing behind the cabinet.
• Party took three scrolls from the cabinet and left the other nine:
  • In Elvish: A series of chants in an old version of Common, songs to Tenelia and Eldor (Elves very moved to hear)
  • In Common: This parchment is more weathered and worse quality than the others. It is the deeds from the town of Saltmarsh dated 1150 dedicating the caves of the daemons to be sanctified by the Guardians of Tenelia's Relics.
  • In Common: Another legal document dated 1300 authorising the Uwse of Arkroot in the detroy'ng completeth of the demonic caves for the contining useth of the righteous priests of Tenelia

Session 24 : Exploring Demon Cove

11/05 Midnight

• Further exploration into the caverns below Demon Cove. Attacked by Oche Jelly, Ovak got badly damaged and managed to flee down the tunnel avoiding further attacks and able to warn party of cliff exit.
• Party took clifftop ledge, Falkrunn took part of ledge away with her feet taking away a safe exit
• Party fought bats in tunnel back into the caverns
• Short rest
• Encounter with an ambush of three Cave Bullywugs

11/05 Dawn

• Party took the left hand way and found Mad Agatha the Sea Hag who engaged in conversation and frightened all except Emalas. Party defeated her and she fled to the sea. Party took her bottles, skrimshaw and Silver Ladle. Aramil burnt her notebook and threw it in the sea.

Episode 23 : Seaton & Saltmarsh

• Party along with Sils Tesent from Murkethorne visit Old Ben Maysmith and he gives them a lift to Seaton in his small ketch "The Quicksilver", the party also see a partly built boat with red and gold trim in his boathouse
• Party donated ancient coins to Seaton Museum
• Zargo (the Museum curator) promises to look through archives and will contact Keledek when he has more information about Tenelia's Staff (pole)
• Aramil followed the mysterious gnome who was asking about Winston in Saltmarsh, he sees him taking notes about the manholes
• Landorn tells Aramil about the very secretive thieves guild under the streets of Saltmarsh

• Party arrive at Saltmarsh in the Ace of Diamonds
• Landorn sent Thizenor to tell smugglers party are on an errand
• Delivered Knot Root to Keledek, he has promised to help with the lighthouse in some way as a return of favour
• Landorn will take carpenters from Carpenter's Guild to get them started on the docks on Abbey Isle
• Frank, Ernest, Borin and Korin (with armour & weapons bought by the party) go to Red Larch to deliver Candy Root to Northill and bring back Grindol to start work on lighthouse
• Party entered catacombs of Demon Cove and fought Cave Bullywugs

Episode 22b : Liberating The Sidhean

• The party defeated the Manticore, Marsha fled (again)
• Searched the body of the dead hag and found a key to the door and rescued Emely Barrowvaire, they find:
  • Ovak takes bottle with sliver of fingernail inside
  • Falkrun takes a potion of Greater Healing
  • Emalas takes bottle with misty liquid inside
• Behind the other door they find a cage of zombie children, Aramil befriends Emely and the other children
• Siegfried cooks up some sweets made from Candyweed and the children revert to their normal selves
• When the party return to Murkthorne they encounter the mayor Crownat Daziot who they mistake for Ekkzahl and defeat
• Siegfriend takes children back to parents while party defeats Ekkzahl and Marsha Mayfly
• They search the house and take the treasure giving some to the residents, also:
  • Aramil finds book Ancient hieroglyphics of the Sacred Temple of Demon Cove
  • Ovak takes Bracelet of Protection (requires attunement +1 AC) from the wizard
• PCs stay for two nights to have party with residents, residents gift the party with three sacks full of Candy Weed, Heart Sage and Knot Root
• PCs plan to go back to Seaton via sea route, residents point them to a path that goes south

Episode 22a

• Followed footprints around The Sidhean (the barrow), suffered psychic blows and Aramil found tracks to a hag corpse. Searched corpse but found nothing of interest.
• Entered the Sidhean and explored the rooms leading off the main corridor, searched some and found small amounts of treasure
• Falkrunn picked up silver bottle and released swarm of insects that Emalas dispatched easily
• SIBH Siegfried Bumblehammer identified wine bottles as being worth large sums (100gp each), Falkrunn gave bottles to Siegfried and Ovak
• Ovak poked bone into liquid in the cauldron and touched some of the liquid in the cauldron but the saving throw was a success and she just felt a bit tense
• Aramil and Ovak broke two eggs prompting the wrath of two Carrion Crawlers and a young one that hatched whilst in combat
• Ovak tried to break down the door and Aramil tried to pick the lock but did not succeed
• Aramil tried to reassure the sobbing creature behind the door
• Aramil and Falkrunn stayed inside while Emalas and Ovak searched the body and found the key sewed into the lining of the hag’s cloak. Siegfried stayed by the entrance and screamed at the arrival of the Manticore and Hag.
• Falkrunn ran to the entrance of the barrow
